8/29/07 Order of Operations
How do you use order of operations to evaluate an expression? Why is it important to understand and use the order of operations? Don’t forget to state the assignment that was given in class.
In an expression with various signs, you would need to use the order of operations. You would do the parentheses then exponets then multiplication or division (whichever appears first left to right) then addition or subtraction (whichever comes first left to right. It is improtant to know how to use this for if you are doing a problem that could end up one way doing it a certain way or it could end up right doing it with the order of operations. Our assignment was to do Page 10, numbers 5,10,22,32,34,35, and 36.
